Reuters added Video podcasting
Old media i.e. Mainstream is getting quite a pace lately for bringing back lost good old readership by embracing technology and social co-operation. The news agency, Reuters head and shoulder above anyone else in this attempt. Reuters has announced the launch of the first free, ad-supported mobile news video service in the USA, making it the first major news organization in the U.S. to offer such a service to mobile phones. Since already Reuters offer similar service in Canada,Asia and Europe.
This announced service can be accessible through Reuters mobile site which contains breaking news and business video segments optimized for selected smart phones only. The Mobile Video project primarily targets Windows and smart phones. Surprisingly Nokia E62, Palm 700w, and Blackberry Pearl like sophisticated phone can only access this, too bad. According to Stephen Smyth, general manager of Reuters Media–
Video clips will encompass both business and headline news, and range in length from approximately :30 to several minutes. A total of 20 videos will be available on the site at any given time, and the mobile video will be “updated around the clock
