Tech Deal of the Day

by Perceval Mackendrick

This is a similar to the post I did not too long ago, the one that talks about a tie that has a spy cam. :P

Well, just like that, this is a lighter that has a digital camera.

Now, most people would think: Why in the world would you need a digital camera on your lighter? :P

Well, you have to keep in my that people are people. :P Its that simple; we are amazed by things, and as psychology demands it, we are just attuned to keeping stuff that we like.

For example, we see a girl that looks good, or exhibit unique features, and on the spot, our mind makes a decision to be attracted to the girl, and want her as a possession, more than anything else.

If you think I am wrong, please let me know. I could just be biased because I am a typical guy, but not so typical because on the way, I am going to order the lighter that captures images.

But keep in mind, that the lighter is not for me, I cannot disclose who it is for, but it is for someone.

And NO :!: its not me because I don’t smoke. And you shouldn’t either :!:

Anyways, the lighter is the size of any regular zippo lighter. Some of the specs on the digital camera installed within are that it captures images at 640 pixels by 480 pixels. Its not too bad at all, for a lighter camera.

Installed with a 64MB internal memory, the lighter is labeled with “Digital Camera” on the front cover. :(

That is a bad place to put the logo “Digital Camera.” The whole purpose of the digital camera is to astound people that there is a camera in the lighter, no have them read it, and then show them that what the logo says is true. :P

Anyways, if you are on a stealthy mission to take pictures of a top secret bunker located in the middle of nowhere in Arizona :P, then this is the perfect piece to your collection of spyware.

Comment Mania

by Perceval Mackendrick

Thats right folks! Finally, the concurrent issue of spam comments have been fixed. I bet the last time you posted a comment on any of the 451Press sites, all of your comments went into the spam box.

Well, not anymore, you dont have to deal with that. I’m just here to notify you that, with a lot of updates to 451Press blogging, one improvement is the spamming issue.

So, now, I don’t have to take a look at the spam box and weed through all of the comments to pick out the ones that actually belong on the comment box.

While the news is here, I must inform you that our giveaway of the Cartel cd is still in play and anyone can will, all you have to do is comment on watchingfamilyguy, or MobilityWatch, or Blognewswatch.

Remember that the giveaway ends on the last day of January.

Some other posting rules are that you can post as many comments as you want to assure your victory of the Cartel Cd.

As poor as this thing is going, There will be another comment mania prize given out next month, and prize will be determined as the days go by. Right now, I am thinking of giving away a few mp3 players, as for the commenters who comment the most.

So, if you want to win a couple of mp3 players, here is your chance, all you have to do is comment on the first week of February, about anything regarding the specific site that you are on.

Well, that is enough of the update for you guys, I will let you be on your ways, and make sure to always keep in mind that free stuff being given out here is not always free because essentially someone is paying for it. But worry not, that someone is not you because its me.

And in order for me to continue on doing this, I sometimes need motivation, and comments motivate me to talk about a specific subject. (A little FYI for you guys :P )

Ciao:!:

Blogging on your time.

by Perceval Mackendrick

A tiring day today was. All of the updates to our servers, and what not, but worry not, posting today was be just like posting on any other day.

The topic in discussion today is the timing to blog, and how much time to exactly put into your blog. While some professional bloggers are constantly putting all of their time into their blogs, one wants to know how much time to put into your personal blog.

Well, while the answer is not definite, I can tell you that if you are posting 5 posts a day, each of them being more than 250 words in length, then you are definitely spending too much time blogging.

On the other hand, if you post once a week on your personal blog, then some will say that you are posting too little.

When measuring how much to spend on your blog, you must keep in mind that you have to post about things that will give your reader something to actually care about, something that they can relate to you, as a person, or a blogger.

There are some blogs who mostly talk about how the bloggers day went, and if you are into those kinds of personal diaries, then its your business to read about them, but if you are a blogger (or even a normal internet user) looking for some information, a personal diary is not the place to look.

While personal diaries require the least amount of information to look up and write about, it is also the only one that the reader will find the least interesting.

So, an average, a blogger should post 1-3 posts every 2 days. There will be times where you won’t be able to post, due to natural occurrences, but those will have to be looked past.

Well, thats it for now, I hope I can interest you in a read about how to capture your readers to read your blog.

Free Cartel - Cartel (2007)

by Perceval Mackendrick

Well, here is just another post as a reminder that Watching Family Guy is giving away a free copy of Cartel - Cartel (2007).

Such a band should be promoted as it being all over youtube. Unfortunately, I can’t find a good youtube video to put on here because all of the companies have put a request form on finding the youtube on this site.

Anyways, all you have to do is comment on any of the posts here at Blog News Watch, Watching Family Guy, or Mobility Watch. Its that simple. As soon you have put in your comment, it will be sent to me, and I will record a marking for each comment that you submit.

The final day of the Cartel giveway is on the last day of this month, which is January 31st. Coming up very shortly, you only have 3 days to comment to win you free copy of Cartel - Cartel 2007.

Personally, I think that its worth it, but I guess the fault is mine for putting this up because most people these days just go use Limewire or Torrents to download their files, whereas I only just http servers, because I don’t want to violate the copyright laws.

Being as careful as I am, it only happens a few times that I catch myself using Limewire or Torrents to download any programs, music, or any other files.

I know downloading files using torrents a college is severly watched upon because the college doesn’t want to get sued for illegal copyright violations either.

Well, thats it for now, but perhaps the next time I do this, I will choose something else to giveaway.

Maybe a digital camera, or a 2GB Flash Drive or something. Maybe something really cool like a laser light or something.

If there is something that you want, I will be more than happy to buy it and give it away here for free. Please let me know what you want by commenting. Thank you and have a great day :D

Linkage

by Perceval Mackendrick

So, you may have heard that Google changed their whole deal on the issue of pagerank. Well, although I would like to blame them, especially for taking down my watchingfamilyguy.comblog down from a pagerank of 5 to a pagerank of 3. I was sad to see it happen.

But, I guess, in all honesty, you can’t really blame google for doing this. I mean, when there are so many new blogs emerging every day, of course there are going to have to be changes to the Google Pagerank system.

I wish I could pay google to make my pagerank a 10, but unfortunately, I dont think I have that kind of money, nor do I wish to pay google anymore money to google than they make per year.

Want some blogging links?

Although I strictly encourage you as a blogger to earn your readers through the web simply by attracting them to your posts, here is another way to “earn” your links.

I would really look down on somebody, though, if I saw them buying this product to increase their blog traffic or google Pagerank.

Actually, come to think of it, it would be insane to buy this only to increase your google Pagerank. Unless it is for a blog that you are trying to make money with via PayPerPost, its a complete waste of money.

What I say: Don’t worry, you will get your readers, just post your usual posts, and post them everyday. Now, this may not happen every day, but you should make an attempt to do so.

Besides, the more content you produce, the more google indexes that content, and the more of a change there is for a reader to come to your blog.

Blogger Burnout

by Perceval Mackendrick

A long time ago, the previous author of this site wrote about 5 Ways to Avoid Blogger Blindness. Why would he tackle the subject of blogger’s burnout and blindness so early on, even before he started talking about the craft of writing for blogs and promoting them in-depth?

Less Burnout = Better Blogger

Your capability to maintain mental clarity and stability is directly related to your success as a blogger.
Is this true? I mean, do you have to be mentally clear and stable to post a good subject and write logicially enough so that the reader understands you?
It means great content more frequently rather than too much filler content followed by long periods of nothing.

It means more visitors because you write attractive content more often and promote it more steadily.

It means more money if you monetize your blog.

It means stability.

Getting a handle on why blogger burnout occurs and how to prevent it is essential, so I’m covering it now before I cover the process of blogging in a great deal of depth.

It all comes back to your decisions and your sense of passion for blogging. The more passion you are about blogging about the topics that you like, the more the readers will see it in the blog. Of course, it is nothing physically, but it can be seen between the lines.

Of course, your passion for blogging has to relate to how much time you are willing to spend not only to post on your blog, but also to promote it.

If you only post on your blog (without promotion) then you have to strive on the fact that people will randomly get to your blog via google. But heck, if you sign up with technorati, claim your blog via google analytics, and join forums that allow blog promotion, then you are not only promoting your blog, but you are also getting new ideas to post on.

This exchange will definitely show up when you write your posts, simply because of the fact that you are writing about what all other people are writing about and, also taking your own perspective on things.

So, just keep in mind that only posting is not the best way to blog on your blog.

Are you blogging this?

by Perceval Mackendrick

Well, of course I am :D Who wouldn’t be blogging this. The time and effort someone put into making this video could have easily been time spent into making a blog and even posting on it a few times.

Thats right, it doesn’t even take that long to make and post on a blog. I recommend that bloggers use the Wordpress platform to blog, but I may just be biased due to the fact that I used Wordpress ALL THE TIME.

Just go to www.wordpress.com and then sign up to make a new blog. You will need an email address, and then after that it will as you to verify your email address, as that is where all the comments go to be verified.

As soon as you have your login information, go to your blog, and then you are allowed to select what kind of theme you want for your blog. For the 451Press blog here, I’m not allowed to change the theme, but if I were to, I would change it to make it something more pleasant.

Personally, I would like to have this be some sort of blue, because that is what can attract your readers to actually view your site. You aren’t going to get people to look at your site by having it look all bad. Keep in mind that first impressions mean a lot when viewing blogs.

In view of all said, if you have a blog that you would like to promote, I would be more than happy to take a look at it, and then link it up to this site as a good or bad example of a blog. Regardless of what it is, I’m sure it will attract readers to your blogs.

Do I have any people willing to do this? Please leave a comment :D

And here is a pleasant view for those of you viewing the site:

Free Cartel - Cartel (2007)

by Perceval Mackendrick

Alright, so the plan I had conjured didn’t work so well last time. I asked people to comment only if they wanted their own copy of the Free Premium Rapidshare Account. Apparently, not many people were interested in the offer. Fortunately, however, that is money that I get to keep to myself thanks to you :D However, this exchange of entities has accompanied to a new idea: giving out a free copy of Cartel - Cartel (2007)

So, if you are interested, all you have to do is comment on any of the posts here at Watching Family Guy

All I request from the comments is that you make a statement that is meaningful. For example, I dont want “aadfsadfsa” or “9875471″ However, I’m not going to stop you from making those comments, they just won’t be counted if the circumstances play out right.

So the game is the 100th commenter wins the free Cartel-Cartel(2007) cd(digitally). The game starts as soon as you can see this post, and ends as soon as the 100th comment is posted. However, before you enter the comment form, make sure that your email is valid because I will be sending out emails as to who is the 100th commenter, and those who are 5 comments away from the 100th commenter. Also, the winner will be announced here at Watching Family Guy and (his or her email will not be posted on the site, as it is an infringement of privacy) his or her name will be posted as the title of the Post.

So, you have heard that Limewire, uTorrents are dangerous ways to get music because they involve great amounts of piracy, but through a site such as this (and the one I’ll be providing to the winner) are secure from being caught. Any questions? Please comment here(by clicking on the title of the post).

Everything You Need To Know about Blogging!

by Perceval Mackendrick

So, now that you know that the guy who coined the Term “weblog” never made a cent out of it, yet should have been a billionaire, is not what he should’ve been. So, I guess this is just a idea to keep in mind that when you blog for money (whether it be passionately or not) expecting your blog to make more money than professional blogs such as Engadget, is a ridiculous thought, and you should eradicate it out of your mind as soon as possible.

The context of this video dates back a couple years when blogging was the “new” thing to do. (A little bit before myspace or facebook.) In 1997, blogs emerged, but everyday, there are people creating new blogs. I haven’t checked recently, but right now there are so many blogs that each blog is getting less of the pageviews that it should be getting.

As a writer, and blogger, it is easy to think ” Why didn’t blogging just stay as one of those underground things that no one liked to do, except for a few exceptions?” or maybe something like, ” If every body wasn’t making blogs all the time, people would take their time to look a the actual blogging company sites out there.” :P

Again, that is just the blogger inside me speaking. :D Mind you, he comes out very little often, so its been hard trying to get him to come out. Laugh. :D

Anyways, I’ll try to open up the little blogger inside me more, but as for now, look at the next post if you would like to see some porn, please check out the next post which will be posted in less than 2 hours.

Smilebox

by Perceval Mackendrick

I’m going to try something that I haven’t done before, and you as a reader, should be prepared to partake on a journey I set forth for you. :P

Okay, so its not really that big of a journey, but its something worth considering.

Try free video clip sharing with Smilebox. Amazing slideshows hold your photos, videos, plus your own music.

I am told that it is not mandatory to post such a topic of “Smilebox” on a info blog such as Blogs News Watch but it has come to my attention that I wouldn’t actually be losing anything if I did post this. So, with that in mind, please take a look at Smilebox.

Smilebox is the new “Creative messaging” system. Of course, no one is telling you to use this, but you might want to consider it in your list of programs you use to send files to your families, relatives, and friends.

Smilebox enables users to create something truly powerful by choosing from hundreds of unique, multimedia designs, easily personalizing them with their photos, music, words and style and then sharing them via print or email.

Like it says, Smilebox does enable users to make multimedia user pages that other people can access as normal as any other site. It draws its multimedia application ability from everyday life by using scrap booking, photo editing, and even greetings. Its the new way to share your photos and eventually your life.

Well, thats enough for now, I’ll just let you make the decision on whether or not you would like to sign up for the free offer of Smilebox. The best thing about this offer is that its FREE. Yes, you heard me, FREE.

I wouldn’t be posting this if it weren’t free. Of course, some people believe that paying more can get you some extra features, and it can. Fortunately with this offer, you are offered to sign up for a 14 day trial of the Premium version of the Smilebox software.
