Google to combine Gtalk & Orkut
After months of speculation and rumors Goggle finally expressed its plan to integrate Orkut and Google Talk, probably also other Goggle pages. Last month Goggle already combined its office applications, so this will be Google’s steps to integrate its social networking site with mail and instant massaging system. Google’s Orkut is very popular outside North America especially in Brazil and India. Though it is still very unclear what is Google’s actual plan with Orkut, still its not available for worldwide audiences (Some regions user have to depend on invitation still) without invitation (Some region’s user can sign up without invitation- Brazil, India and some parts of North America).
If Google really wants to call Orkut its MySpace they have to start globalization first. On the other hand Google is having some real progress with Google Talk (Gtalk). After this integration, Orkut members will be able to text message and voice chat with other members of the community if they choose to communicate in that way. From Google’s point of view the new functions might add a sense of immediacy to member interaction on the social networking site. I wonder why they name that Orkut. Is that some kind Brazilian energy drink? : D
