Digg pull some new features
Digg which just turned two earlier this month has introduced some new features, not necessarily upgraded features though.
They made some adjustment in their content area, which isn’t very much news-focused. They bring the categories at the top of the page as horizontal menu and two tabs contents (popular stories and upcoming stories). On popular stories TAB you will notice a wide column listing all the newly popular stories and a narrow column focusing on “top ten on all topics” and ”Digg Deeper”. On the other TAB wide column showing upcoming stories and narrow column hot on all topic. It seems to be Digg is insisting readers to focus more on popular topics rather then anything.
In addition users can now Digg their favorite Podcasts (feeds and individual episodes). The podcasting homepage sort the most popular podcasts by category (comedy, gaming, health, etc.). You will notice a “beta” right on the butt of Podcasts, means still it is in test phase. They put a “Find Podcast” as well as “Add Podcast” TAB in Podcast page, I wonder why they didn’t add similar in main content area, I.e. news content area.
Other significant changes—
- Full width(fluid) window.
- Video section added a cool change, I.e. now videos are shown within the Digg window (will darken the Digg main window and a small video window will sapper on the middle of it)
